Hi! Im Al!

I'm an industrial designer, fabricator, and artist driven by a passion for making. My work is shaped by a background in woodworking, metalsmithing, carpentry, and fine arts, allowing me to approach design through a balance of creativity, craftsmanship, and practical problem-solving.

As a student of Industrial Design and Jewelry & Metalsmithing at Massachusetts College of Art and Design, I combine traditional making techniques with modern design processes to create thoughtful, functional, and visually compelling objects. My experience spans furniture and woodworking, metal fabrication, casting, stained glass, and product development, giving me a strong understanding of materials and construction.

I grew up in Woburn, Massachusetts, where scouting, woodworking, and hands-on projects first sparked my interest in design and fabrication. Those experiences taught me the value of problem-solving, leadership, and learning through making.

Today, I'm based in Somerville, Massachusetts, where I continue to develop my practice as a designer and maker. My professional background includes residential construction, stained glass fabrication, facility and vessel maintenance, and leadership roles in the sailing community. Together, these experiences have given me a deep appreciation for materials, craftsmanship, and designing for real-world use.

Outside of design, I remain involved in community engagement, outdoor recreation, and mentorship. I believe the strongest design solutions come from combining technical skill, artistic exploration, and meaningful human experiences.
